About Claire Bowers

A bit about me …

I am a qualified psychodynamic therapist with over thirty years’ experience helping adults and young people work through their psychological and emotional difficulties.

I have worked across a range of settings, including counselling agencies, senior leadership in schools, and community projects. I now work in a private practice, based in both Hastings and Rye.

I work with people from diverse backgrounds and support a wide range of difficulties, including menopause, OCD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and professional burnout.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and relational. I offer a highly confidential and supportive space where we can explore what is troubling you, make sense of your experiences and work towards meaningful and lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.

Training & Qualifications

I have graduated from the University of Brighton with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counselling. I have also studied at The Central School of Speech and Drama and have a B.Ed (Hons) in Drama and Spoken Language.

Continuing Professional Development

Caring for my clients is central to my work. I continue to learn and develop through ongoing study, reading and professional events. I also receive regular supervision to support my practice. This allows me to work ethically and creatively in response to each person’s individual needs.
